Any of you guys use Slingerland's new drums? I always thought they didn't make them anymore, but they do, and they're REALLY inexpensive ($160 for a brass snare). Does anyone know if these are any good, or pieces o' crap?

They suck, huh? Bummer. Some of their kits are really nice looking and cost under $700.

I have to disagree with Randy on this one...I bought the 6 1/2 copper about a year ago when the price was $110, mainly because I couldn't believe how cheap they were....the hardware on the drum is a bit crappy but the shell is fine, and after I put die-cast hoops and a new snare on it (42-strander!) it sounded excellent, live and recorded....I guess it ended up being a $190 drum after I added all that but it was still a good deal...it may not be a Buckly & McFuckly custom $800 shmeller-shelled prize-winner but for the money it's just fine.

For the money though you can get a better drum from World Max, buy a Black Dog. The hardware or metal used on those newer Slingerlands is questionable.
